2010 EVENTS


We endeavour to open the Railway Heritage Precinct every day of the year so people can inspect our railway museum and the various exhibits in the precinct.  You will find us on the Stuart Highway on the southern side of the pictureseque township of Adelaide River.  There is no admission fee, but we have a LARGE donation can that needs all the help you can give it.  Caravans
can pull in off the Stuart Highway - look for the large railway carriage!

APRIL
Saturday 25 ANZAC Day - morning tea in the railway precinct following the Dawn Service at the Adelaide River War Cemetery. This morning, we shall undertake a walk to the Hole in the Hill.
MAY
Monday 03 May Day Holiday. Open Day at the precinct featuring the Darwin City Brass Band,
second-hand stall, precinct tours, Devonshire teas, rides and lots of fun.
10am until 3pm. Bring the family!
Sunday 30 Devonshire tea served in the shady grounds of the precinct, 10am until 2pm.
JUNE
Monday 14 Queen's Birthday Holiday. Possibility of a Rail Trail walk in Darwin - watch this space!
Sunday 27 Devonshire tea served in the shady grounds of the precinct, 10am until 2pm.
JULY
Sunday 12 121st Anniversary of the arrival of the first train in Pine Creek (1889).
Sunday 25 Devonshire tea served in the shady ground sof the precinct, 10am until 2pm.
AUGUST
Monday 02 Picnic Day Holiday. Come and visit the precinct for our traditional Railway Picnic. There will be pony rides, picnic games (sack races, toss the Dog Spike, treasure hunts, etc), tours and Devonshire teas.
Sunday 29 Devonshire tea served in the shady grounds of the precinct, 10am until 2pm.
